I had a slow start to November and felt a reading slump coming, so I turned to an old favorite. ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐บ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฟ by Kennedy Ryan is the first book in a powerful duology, and itโs an easy 5/5 โญ๏ธ.
The story progression in this romance is truly outstandingโyouโll find yourself completely engrossed from the first page to the last. It hits every sweet spot needed for a great love story. Though itโs a romance, the book delves deeply into significant societal issues. Lennix Moon Hunter, the strong and intelligent heroine, represents the struggles of her American Indian heritage, including the loss of ancestral lands. Sheโs captivating from the start, and her resilience and character will leave you inspiredโI find myself wanting to be like her. Maxim Kingsman Cade, meanwhile, is one of the best-written heroes Iโve encountered. He has a powerful vision for change, advocating for climate awareness and environmental preservation. These themes add remarkable depth, making the book richer and more meaningful.
Kennedy Ryan has written this book so beautifully, with many lines so impactful and full of eloquence. I found myself rereading them, savoring the words. The characters are brought to life in such a compelling way. Together, Lennix and Maxim are a power couple, both driven by ambition and passion for making a difference. I just love them.
If this hasnโt convinced you to pick up the book, please DM meโI have plenty more reasons to share! This story holds a special place in my heart, as Iโve read it three times over the past four years. For all my romance readers, if I had to recommend a must-read, it would be this. I could go on, but I think Iโm maxed on IGโs character limit haha.
Lennix and Maximโs story spans two books and a bonus epilogue in Kennedy Ryanโs All the Kingโs Men series.
Raised to rule, bred to lead and weaned on a diet of ruthless ambition. In a world of haves and have nots, my family has it all, and I want nothing to do with it.
My path takes me far from home and paints me as the black sheep. At odds with my father, Iโm determined to build my own empire. I have rules, but Lennix Hunter is the exception to every one of them. From the moment we meet, something sparks between us. But my family stole from hers and my father is the man she hates most. I lied to have her, and would do anything to keep her. Though she tries to hate me, too, the inexorable pull between us will not be denied.
And neither will I.
