A little backstory—I wanted to read the Once Upon a Broken Heart series first, but while browsing through reviews, many recommended starting with Caraval beforehand. With that in mind, I dove straight into this series without thinking much. I didn’t read any reviews or even the blurbs, so I had no idea that books one and two would be told from different POVs 😅 that was definitely an unexpected surprise of my own doing haha
Still, I’m happy to say I still had such a great time reading Legendary! I did miss Scarlett and Julian a little, but I really enjoyed following Donatella and her quest to win Caraval. Her character development truly stood out. Sure, she can be impulsive and reckless, but beneath it all, she loves so fiercely that she’s willing to risk everything for the people she cares about.
And… well, hello Jacks and hello Legend! Definitely the highlights of my Legendary journey through another round of the magical and mystical Caraval ✨
Overall, I feel like Legendary had a more serious tone than the first book. There’s more world-building, more characters, and the plot really starts to thicken. With all the added twists and turns, I’m so excited to dive into Finale next!
