Dominic and Alessandra’s story was one of my most anticipated reads in the Kings of Sin series, especially since hints of their troubled marriage appeared in the first book. This story brings a lot of angst, and some of those moments truly hurt in the best way. Alessandra’s struggle to end a 10-year marriage to finally put herself first was both empowering and painful. Dominic’s realization of how he had neglected her in recent years made me so sad, considering the history he shared with Alessandra. His efforts to win her back were sweet and heartfelt, though I found myself wishing for a bit more groveling—after all, he was fighting for a decade-long marriage.
Typically, books with this kind of plot are tearjerkers for me, but this one didn’t quite have that effect. Despite that, the story still had an undeniable pull and remains a solid read if you’re looking for a romance filled with raw tension, self-discovery, and heartfelt reconciliation.
