Before I Go by Joline Lim

✨ It took me a painstakingly long three months to finish the Graphic Audio version of A Court of Silver Flames. It wasn’t bad at all, but I just wasn’t in the mood to listen to audiobooks lately, or maybe I was procrastinating because this was a reread. But yay! I can finally tick it off my list.

✨ I’ve been wanting to read Before I Go by Joline Lim as part of my quest to explore more books written by Filipino authors. In fact, it was on my “to-buy” list for this month, but I was so happy to find it available on Kindle Unlimited that I didn’t think twice about starting it! Joline’s writing style is incredibly effective at encapsulating emotions between the words, and it often felt like I was reading poetry. She painted such a vivid picture of Rory’s loneliness and grief that I could still feel it even after turning the last page. This novella is perfect for anyone looking for a short read, though I should mention it tackles heavier themes, such as grief and regret following the loss of a loved one.
